I’m doing this thing!

Blogging.
I recall the first time I heard that word.
Blogging.
I had no idea what it really meant but my mind started thinking it had something to do with some sort of new country music dance craze. I was right in one sense, it was about a craze!
That was several years ago and I now have a full understanding of the word. The term describes the activity of one who engages in writing a Weblog. Thats where we get our word “Blog”. (don’t know why they tossed Weblog) A Web-log is a journal written on-line and accessible to users of the internet. Once they (still don’t know who they are) threw out the “we” and started calling it a “blog”, those who wrote them started calling the practice “blogging’. You already knew this of course and are wondering why I bothered you with the details. Relax. You knew about that history but everyday hundreds of thousands of people are new to “blogging” and it wouldn’t be right if they started reading my blog and thought it was all about a new country line dance. Hence, the explanation. Now lets move on.
As you may notice by my sporadic posting I haven’t been a consistent blogger. But thats changing today. I’ve got a hurricane of thoughts swirling in my head and I’m thinking I want to expose them. Expose is good word here. I surfed to dictionary.com and the first definition for “expose” was “to lay open to danger, attack, harm. etc.: to expose soldiers to gunfire; to expose ones character to attack.” Sure I will only be exposing my thoughts to you but in so doing I expose myself in many ways to attack and harm. And I’m cool with that.
You will find spelling errors and thus I will expose my sleep habits throughout my informal education. My grammar will expose the same. (I’m sure I’ve done that already) I’ll expose parts of my heart that were safer before you read about my fears, lack of faith and propensity to flat out sin. (you’re freaking out that I spelled propensity correct aren’t you?) And of course, you will have the opportunity to expose yourself (don’t go there) and leave comments for all those who wander on this blog looking for dance lessons.
I’m thinking some good will come of it. Perhaps some ideas can be exchanged that later materialize into actions that advance Gods Kingdom for His glory. And how cool will it be if we have the joy of becoming friends? That is a pleasant thought. However, I’m well aware that there are those who are dangerous and will use the opportunity to attack and do me harm. If you decide to use this blog for your “War of Words’ be advised, you cant beat a man who chooses to fight with an olive branch. (think about it)
Peace!
Tony

I dont know about everyone else, but i am really looking forward to frequenting your blog and finding out what goes through your mind in a larger scale than the 140 characters twitter allows; i’m excited because what you do do in those 140 is amazing, i can only imagine what you will be doing here.
ps- i can’t spell either and my grammar is far less than par <dont tell my college professor that>, its about the message not the missing and misplaced letter here and there.

I am with Kristen on this one. You are a blessing through those 140 characters. Your short little messages are an encouragement and light to a countless number of people, myself included. And, I fully agree with you - good both can, and will come out of this. I think that you will touch many readers, but in so doing God will also touch your heart. Looking forward to reading as you feel led to write!
