Not cruel—but cool!

We all know the story of Moses going up on the mountain and getting the TEN COMMANDMENTS. The T.C.’s were the law by which God wanted us to live. No one has ever been able to live up to them except for Jesus.
There are a lot of people who think God is cruel because He gave us an unattainable standard by which to live. However, nestled in the story of God laying out the law (so to speak) is a little phrase that gives us a peek into the heart of this so called cruel God.
The phrase is, “which you were shown on the mountain”. It appears in Exodus 25:40, 26:30 and in 27:8.
This phrase comes in the context of God laying out the design for the Tabernacle. This lends insight to the fact that God did not just give the T.C.’s on the mountain, but He also gave Moses a preview of the Tabernacle. How cool is that? When God was laying out the way that we should live, He was also laying out the way He would forgive!
Now that’s not a cruel God, that’s a cool God! Put that in your heart and live by it!
Enjoying Jesus!
